NEW ALBUM! - The Lionheart


Chris Opperman's fifth album, The Lionheart will be released worldwide on Tuesday, March 3rd! The album features ten brand new studio recordings including "The Porpentine," Opperman's ambitious 12-movement piece for full orchestra plus rhythm section.

The album also boasts a ferocious double guitar solo by renowned musician Mike Keneally as well as performances by Frank Macchia, Chris Spilsbury, Jen Kuhn, Daren Burns, Craig Bunch, and many others.

The album also features artwork by Eisner-award winning comic book artists Mark Buckingham (Fables, The Sandman, Miracleman) and D'Israeli (The Sandman) (See above!).

Opperman's orchestration/arranging and piano work is featured on the two latest releases from Grammy-award winning guitarist Steve Vai, Sound Theories, Vols. I & II and Real Illusions: Reflections, both of which were nominated for Grammys and which are availalbe at all major music retail stores.

The Very Best of Steve Vai

Sony Records recently released Playlist: the Very Best of Steve Vai, which features Chris's piano playing with Steve & the Metropole Orkest on the song "Lotus Feet," which as nominated for the 2006 Grammy for Best Rock Instrumental Performance. Available worldwide.

Mike Keneally
serves up Wine & Pickles!

Exowax Recordings recently announced the forthcoming release of "a collection of unreleased things, rarities, and allsorts from the last several years or so" by Mike Keneally. The album contains 21 previously unreleased tracks including the full-length versions of "Skull Bubbles" and "Selfish Otter," both of which feature Opperman's trumpet playing from the Dancing days.

Gasoline Hand & Beth Jean


Chris Opperman recently produced an entire album of new songs for his side project Gasoline Hand which features Counting Crows founding member Matt Malley, Grammy-nominated saxophonist Frank Macchia, and Bill Stuhlly on drums. More on this project coming soon!

Also, Oppy is headed up to Boston this weekend to record piano tracks for singer/songwriter Beth Jean's new project.
