NEW ALBUM! - The Lionheart |

Chris Opperman's fifth album, The Lionheart will be released Tuesday, July 29th, on the Purple Cow Records label. The album features ten brand new studio recordings including "The Porpentine," Opperman's ambitious 12-movement piece for full orchestra plus rhythm section.
The album also boasts a ferocious double guitar solo by renowned musician Mike Keneally as well as performances by Frank Macchia, Chris Spilsbury, Jen Kuhn, Daren Burns, Craig Bunch, and many others.
The album will also feature artwork by Eisner-award winning comic book artist Mark Buckingham who is the main artist on Opperman's favorite comic book Fables. (See rough pencil sketch above).

Opperman's orchestration/arranging and piano work is featured on the two latest releases from Grammy-award winning guitarist Steve Vai, Sound Theories, Vols. I & II and Real Illusions: Reflections, both of which were nominated for Grammys and which are availalbe at all major music retail stores.

#5 - The Lionheart Currently in Production! |

Oppy is currently working with Grammy-award winning engineer Neil Citron on the mixes for The Lionheart while completing the recording of "The Porpentine." Songs already mixed include "Miles Behind," "Gen-Ebulous," "White Willow," "Beware of the Random Factor," "Telepathy on Mars?," and "Idaho Potato." The album is due for release on Tuesday, July 29th.

Exowax Recordings recently announced the forthcoming release of "a collection of unreleased things, rarities, and allsorts from the last several years or so" by Mike Keneally. The album contains 21 previously unreleased tracks including the full-length versions of "Skull Bubbles" and "Selfish Otter," both of which feature Opperman's trumpet playing from the Dancing days.

Productions & Premieres "Tommy's Song" and "The Majestic" |

Chris Opperman and Neil Citron recently co-produced a track for indie singer/songwriter Beth Jean called "Tommy's Song" which was recorded at The Doghouse Studios in Woodland Hills, CA.
Also, the Cresskill High School Concert Band from Cresskill, NJ recently debuted Opperman's concert band piece "The Majestic" which was written for his friend Joe Verderese whom conducted the world premiere performance.
